It is a series of physical and emotional symptoms that occurs prior to the actual periods. This may range from minor to major depends on each individual and episode.

It affects almost 85 percent of menstruating woman.

Common symptoms are:

  • Anxiety
  • Mood swings
  • Breast tenderness
  • Sore breast
  • Acne
  • Abdominal bloating
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Headache
  • Changes in sleep pattern
  • Sensitivity to light and sound etc.

If the symptoms affects one’s daily life and activities need to consult doctor. Some conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, hypothyroidism and pregnancy have similar symptoms. Mostly symptoms disappear once periods starts.
